Kai Houghton is good at her job, follows the training she has been given and applies the 1 child rule without exception. Very much theme led Eve Smith again gets to the heart of issues that could one day be part of our lives, indeed many of the themes are already being discussed, and of course a one child policy is part of China’s history. There is intrigue, and excitement in this fast moving story as Kai finds herself discovering a world different to that she had always accepted, and questioning what she had believed to be true.
