Now up on EmmabBooks.com is my review of Silent Heroes by Patricia Furstenberg, a fascinating novel about the lives of US Marines, and their dogs, in Afghanistan and the people they are trying to help.

Silent Heroes is primarily about the people (and dogs) whose lives have been impacted by years of conflict, with the history of the country and its politics intertwined. A fascinating and thought provoking read.   Highly recommended.
