Berghaus Women’s Paclite Waterproof Trousers

Love them!

My Rating:  5 out of 5

These are light, comfortable and completely waterproof (over) trousers.   They are Goretex, so breathable.

Berghaus trousersThe trousers have a zip that goes from the ankle to 3/4 of the way up the leg, which  is great for getting them on/off over shoes, and also ventilation.  The zip does not go quite far enough to enable you to use it to reach through to a pocket – the trousers have no pockets.  At the ankle there are two press studs, so you can adjust how narrow the ankle opening is.  The  zips have tags on, for ease of pulling up and down.

They fold up really small, so are great for carrying in a rucksack “just in case”.  They come with a little bag to store/carry them in.

I bought the “short” length, as I am 5’4″ / 162.5 cm.  They are a perfect length.  I bought a size bigger than I normally wear, so I could easily get them on over jeans etc.  They are nice and loose on the leg, so great for running, hiking etc.

If the elasticated waistband is worn over a wicking type t-shirt, the waistband travels up when using.  Over a cotton type t-shirt this doesn’t happen.  The waistband is comfortable enough to wear direct on skin.  There is no zip/button etc on the waistband, just an elasticated waist.

They make a bit of a rustling sound when you move, but if its raining hard enough you won’t hear it!

These are so comfortable, and look ok, that I wear them when its likely to rain.  Before I would only put on waterproof trousers when really desperate.

I’ve worn them out in a torrential downpour for an hour, and stayed completely dry underneath!

I think they’re brilliant, can’t believe I didn’t buy them before!
