This is a beautiful story about the discovery of who the people you think you know best really are.  Its a gentle family tale, that had me entranced and loving every moment.  Love, secrets, families, Ireland and just some of the themes within this novel.   Set in two time zones, Faye’s “now” in the 1960s, and that of her mother’s from the end of the 1800’s the story moves well between the two times, drawing parallels and showing differences.

5*s from me for the audio version of this novel.  The narration was beautiful, and I loved this story of family and what is important and what is not.   Apparently this is the latest book in a series, but I did not realise this until I had finished reading, so I can confirm that it reads well as a stand alone book.
