Ward Zero by Linda Huber

Who’s next?

My rating:  3 out of 5

ward-zeroA suspense novel that builds in drama and tension and keeps you guessing.

Set in Manchester, Sarah’s visit home turns out to be more dramatic than she had expected.  Money goes missing, and a murderer starts killing people.  Who will be next?  However it’s not all worry and intrigue, Sarah meets her old school friend, and the hurt and wounds of her past begin to heal.

The prologue makes an exciting start, and the book then races along with moments of drama alongside an out of the ordinary background story.

Though the writing wasn’t quite to my style (hence the lower rating), the storyline is very clever, gripping and contains some “gasp” moments.  The murderer features often, without any clues as to his identity – very clever.   Only a few main characters, so the reader can enjoy the story, as they race to find out who the murderer is, and whether he can be stopped before he strikes again.
