In Two Worlds by Ido Kedar

Never have I been so moved by a fictional character as I was by Anthony in Ido Kedar’s novel In Two Worlds. Anthony has nonspeaking autism (as does the author) and the reader is taken on a journey of frustration and hope, as Anthony tried to communicate with those around him.

The book title refers to Anthony’s inside world where he is intelligent, loving, kind and frustrated, and the Anthony that the outside world sees, which is so different to the inner Anthony.  A novel that challenges assumptions and brings hope.

Probably the most moving novel I will read in 2020!
