What (am I currently reading)?
I’m currently reading The Existence of Amy by Lana Grace Riva @LanaGraceRiva . A novel published in 2019.

Blurb (taken from: https://lanagraceriva.com/)
Amy has a normal life. That is, if you were to go by a definition of ‘no obvious indicators of peculiarity’, and you didn’t know her very well. She has good friends, a good job, a nice enough home. This normality, however, is precariously plastered on top of a different life. A life that is Amy’s real life. The only one her brain will let her lead.
A fictional story that depicts the reality of mental illness behind a perception of normality.
Why (have I chosen to read it)?
It was recommended on Twitter, and caught my eye. I bought it some time ago and it has been lounging on my TBR pile. I read (and listen to) a lot of thrillers, and sometimes I want something completely different. Just before Christmas I wanted to read something that would take my mind off everything going on in the world, and not be too heavy. I thought The Existence of Amy would be just perfect – and I was right 😊.
While (I am reading it)
The ski lifts/slopes have just opened up, but hotels, restaurants (and just about everything else) are shut. Whilst buying my lift pass I snapped this photo. The pistes are looking good (mostly from man-made snow), but there is little snow in our valley – so no cross country skiing on my doorstep, yet. The plus side is I can walk comfortably in the valley and enjoy the snow covered mountain views, and when I want to (i.e. need the exercise) walk up the mountains and enjoy the feel of snow under my (crampon wearing) shoes.

If you would like to tell me What you are reading, Why you are reading that book, and what you’re doing While you’re reading it, then let me know via the Guest Blog Page on EmmabBooks.com and maybe I’ll blog about it.
All the best, Emma
