#amreading – What, Why, While

What (am I currently reading)?

I am currently listening to the audiobook thriller The Passengers by John Marrs @johnmarrs1

The audiobook release date was May 2019, and it is over 11 hours long – so great value for money!

Blurb (taken from: https://www.johnmarrsauthor.com/mybooks    )

Eight self-drive cars set on a collision course. Who lives, who dies? You decide.

When someone hacks into the systems of eight self-drive cars, their passengers are set on a fatal collision course.

The passengers are: a TV star, a pregnant young woman, a disabled war hero, an abused wife fleeing her husband, an illegal immigrant, a husband and wife – and parents of two – who are travelling in separate vehicles and a suicidal man.

Now the public have to judge who should survive but are the passengers all that they first seem?

Why (have I chosen to read it)?

Because I listened to The One by John Marrs, (link to my review) and loved every moment – 5*s from me. Therefore I wanted to listen to another of his audiobooks.   There are many thrillers by this author to choose from, but I had seen others on Twitter enthusing about The Passengers, so went for this.

Incidentially The One by John Marrs is coming to Netflix soon – my recommendation is that you read/listen to the book first. Having listened to the audiobook, I can’t wait to see it on Netflix.

While (I  am reading it)

I’ve been out for more winter wonderland walks in the valley.  Last week was mild, and sunny, so a lot of snow melted in the valley – this week we’ve been regularly getting night-time temperatures of -16C (the cat flap freezes up ☹), and daytime temperatures well below freezing out of the sun.

On one walk I was surprised to find Highland Cattle grazing on Austrian meadows, in February – when they are usually still in their sheds.

If you would like to tell me What you are reading, Why you are reading that book, and what you’re doing While you’re reading it, then let me know via   the Guest Blog Page on EmmabBooks.com   and maybe I’ll blog about it.

All the best, Emma
