Today I want to tell you a little about this amazing debut novel – Getting By by Jaire Sims.

Carver is 17 years old and beginning to think about who he is, and what he wants for the future.   This is Carver’s story about figuring things out, plus his great friendships. I found this an engaging read with depth and feeling, and beautifully written.

Set in Chicago, I recommend this novel to anyone of a similar age to Carver, or anyone who spends time with people of this age.
