Out tomorrow (10th June) is the paperback edition of the Everything Happens for a Reason by Katie Allen. This is loosely biographical fiction that will make you laugh, possibly cry and certainly stop and think.

This 5* read tells the story of 12 months in the life of Rachel, and how she manages following the birth of her son Luke who arrived “asleep”. Rachel writes Luke emails telling him everything she would have if he had been in her arms, and it is through these that we follow the ups and downs of Rachel’s year .

Heartwrenching but also brave and uplifting.
