The Lady in the Veil by Allie Cresswell is 5* historical fiction, set in England in 1835. This is the first book I have read by this author (where have I been!) and though the 3rd book in The Talbot Saga, reads very well as a stand alone – though I am looking forward to reading the first two books in the series soon.

Georgina has to go and stay with her cousin, whilst her mother is away. Thus begins this great historical drama, mainly based in London, but also with visits to Yorkshire, Bristol and Weymouth. I loved the beautiful writing style, the mystery and charm of the story and also the snippets of information about the real world outside of the story.  

Just great in every way!
