What (am I currently reading)?

I have just started reading Everyday Magic by Charlie Laidlaw. The genre for this is Contemporary/Literary Fiction – I’m hoping for a a witty, uplifting look at human life.  Its going well so far, I laughed out loud on page 4 – and then read the passage to my husband.  Then a few pages later, I read another passage out to him, and probably disturbed the neighbours with our laughter and tears of mirth.   

It is already available, having been published by Ringwood Publishing in May 2021.

Why (have I chosen to read it)?

I have previously read this author’s Being Alert! (a political satire set in the UK starting in January 2020 )– and loved it.  When I was offered a copy of Everyday Magic I therefore leapt at the chance to read it. 

While (I  am reading it) 

I’ve been out walking. This time up a beautiful gorge, and stopped off for an early lunch, where I was happy to share the garden with 2 cute pigs – until I realised that they would presumably be on next year’s menu as bacon.  Still they were certainly enjoying life, and had plenty of space to run around and have fun.
