#amreading – What, Why, While :  The President’s Daughter by Bill Clinton and James Patterson

What (am I currently reading)?

I am currently reading the thriller The President’s Daughter by Bill Clinton and James Patterson.  This was published (in the UK) in hardback in June 2021, by Century, and in paperback in May of this year.   At the time of writing this blog Amazon UK and US have it at discounted prices

There’s a new administration in the White House. But it’s the previous First Family who tops an international assassin’s hit list.

Michael Keating is a former Navy SEAL — and a former President of the United States, now relocated to rural New Hampshire after a brave but ill-fated military mission cost him his second term.

All he wants is to sink into anonymity with his family (and his Secret Service detail). But when he’s briefed on an imminent threat against his daughter, Keating’s SEAL training may prove more essential than all the power, connections, and political acumen he gained as President.

Why (have I chosen to read it)?

I gave it to my husband for Christmas last year.  He loved it, so I thought I would give it a go.  I’m a fan of James Patterson books, and know very little about Bill Clinton (not into US politics).  It’s a big hefty book – we have the hardback version of 608 pages, so I’m glad I’m not travelling anywhere at the moment!

While (I am reading it)

I’m still  enjoying the summer by being outside walking, high up in the mountains being cooler that in the valley.  Small churches can often be found in out of the way places, this one is near to the mountain lift and a mountain hut (also a cycling/walking route).

My review of The President’s Daughter will be up soon. In the meantime check out all my Thrillers and Crime book reviews at: https://emmabbooks.com/thrillers-and-crime/

All the best, Emma
