Beautiful Contemporary Novel

After a comforting warm first chapter the reader starts getting to know Jennifer, who is originally from Idaho but is now living in Muswell Hill, London.  Initially chapters alternate from Jennifer’s past to the present, as we find out what has brought her so far from home.   Later the story line remains in the now. 

This is a story of hopes and dreams, disappointments and friendships.  A gentle story of life, as seen through 40 year old Jennifer’s eyes, and how she has ended up living in a country so far from home.   The characters are very genuine, and Jennifer’s story both interesting and true to life – so true in fact that when Jennifer receives a text I knew exactly what it was about as I had sent a text using the exact same words only a few weeks before reading this.    

The American Woman is part of RJ Gould’s Dream Cafe series, though can be read as a stand alone. 

A beautifully written contemporary novel, looking at life in a realistic and warm-hearted way.  A book to sit back, relax, and enjoy.  Most of all a tale to immerse yourself in and perhaps be reminded of similar times in your own life.   Another great novel from RJ Gould.
