A quick fascinating read
My rating: 5 out of 5
60 minutes of reading fascinating information about this important king in English history.
This, easy to read book, is full of interesting information, not only about William the Conqueror, but also about the times he lived in. The Danes, Saxons and Vikings, and the Battle of Hastings in 1066, are naturally included. William the Conqueror lived through many battles, indeed some of his castles still remain in England. How his subjects (peasants and landowners) lived from day to day is fascinating, as indeed is the coming about of the Domesday Book – and why it is so called.
5* from me this for this absorbing book. So much information is covered in such a way that it is easy to remember. Only the interesting things about William the Conqueror are included here – to give a great overview of his reign, and the lives of the people at that time. The content is suitable for all ages, and if too young to read it themselves, this is a great way for an adult to learn about William the Conqueror and pass the information onto children.
This is the second book I have read by In60Learning, the first being Mahatma Gandhi: How One Passionate Peacemaker Gently Shook the World. Each book does take approximately 60 minutes to read, and would make great gifts for the recipient to keep and collect. The full collection of books by In60Learning can be found on Amazon, and Audible.
