If you need something to make you laugh in these difficult times, then this is the book for you! Being Alert! by Charlie Laidlaw is a satirical look at what has been happening this year in UK politics. It covers the time from January to August 2020 – but is (obviously) still very valid. It is primarily focused on Covid-19.

I am most definitely not a political animal, but was aware of everyone mentioned in the book – under very humorously amended names, and all the events that were mentioned. Not only funny, but informative too.

Warning: I am informed that laughing out loud whilst reading is very annoying to others in the vicinity!
